Beaches near Calvi

For a great holiday in Corsica, indulge in the beautiful beaches of Calvi.
Calvi beach is as famous for its natural beauty as it is for all the activities that it offers. Bordered on one side by 71 hectares (175 acres) of well-preserved and maintained pine forest, from which the campsite benefits too, and on the other side by a wonderful view of the famous Citadelle of Calvi, its 5km (3 miles) of white sand are well renowned and much appreciated in Corsica.

Calvi beach

There are 5 beaches in Calvi:

  • La Pinède Beach
  • Roncu Beach
  • Alga Beach
  • Revellata Beach
  • Oscellucia Beach
  • Aside from that, the water is shallow and very clean. It’s an easy place to go for a swim with the family, even with small children, carefully watched by their parents of course, but also in high-season by a lifeguard at a first-aid post.

    The city of Calvi

Lastly, the town of Calvi decided to improve its magnificent promenade by making it a pedestrian zone with easy access for everyone, including people with reduced mobility.
Les Castors campsite is only 300 metres, just a few minutes walk, from this beautiful beach.

    Île Rousse

The Ile Rousse is lucky enough to have a sizeable beach, with lovely fine sand, right on the edge of the town.

Access to the beach is made easier by its proximity to the town centre, where there are plenty of car parks, useful to know when the beach is very busy in the high season, in August. A pretty beach, easily accessible and where the clear blue water is just a few minutes walk away.

    Algajola-Aregno Beach

The delightful Algajola beach stretches between Calvi and the Ile Rousse. Water sports enthusiasts love it for its famous currents. With it’s long expanses of sand and easy access to the nearby road, not to mention the fact that the car park runs alongside the strand, so you can park your car and immediately spread out your towel!

    Wild creeks

For lovers of little corners of paradise, known only to a few tourists and less busy than the larger beaches, discovering these little spots is a “must-do” at some point in your holiday. Of course, given the wealth of natural beauty and interesting topography of our coastline, this list is non-exhaustive:

    • Spano Point: just a short distance from the neighbouring village of Lumio, the view from the headland is as breath-taking as it is wild and panoramic.
    • La Revellata: just a few kilometres from the campsite, this peninsula is famous as much for its old lighthouse overlooking the bay as for it’s coloured rocks and it’s incredibly pure waters.
